A calm 4th of July was filled with wandering around the yard, preparing for weekend guests, & installing the new curtains on the porch for a breezy easy feeling.

the lakehouse according to erin
One of Erin's favorite places is my parent's house on the lake. The lake has a circumference of 3 miles and motors are not allowed on the water. It is quiet & relaxing and leaves Erin like this at the end of the weekend...
Erin requested a guest blog-post and I obviously obliged.
Hi there, my name is Erin as you have already heard hundreds of time (from my overprotective mother). I am willing to show you around some of my favorite places (you're welcome). This is me on the dock...eying my favorite vessel, the canoe! Here is a view of the glorious water I love to swim about in:
I swam and swam and swam some more with my boyfriend, Kodi the poodle.
Later Dad brought me out for a nice relaxing canoe ride (my favorite)!
Let me show you some of my favorite spaces...I love flowers and pretending like I am a plant that blends in...
After a day of exploring, I retired indoors for some snuggling & napping before a big night of fireworks!
After an exhausting weekend, I slept all the way home! Woof!

erin's dog park day
One of Erin's favorite places on earth is the dog park. The only child that Erin is, she sits back and watches others play while wading solely in the water, happy with just a tennis ball dropping and splashing water into her face. Even though she just observes 80% of the time, she loves it. "Dog park" isn't even allowed to be uttered in our house, unless it's in the immediate future.
After Erin got to enjoy her favorite place in the world...I got to enjoy my favorite food in the world! King crab legs!
To wrap up the laid-back weekend, I snipped some lavender (one of my favorite scents) for my antique alabaster vase I found last year.
It's always nice to bring some nature full of color and relaxing scents into the house! Hopefully these last more than a few days...before Moose attacks them.

welcome to nantucket
T and I booked it out of Boston on Friday like a 5th grader escaping out of school on the final day before summer vacay. We caught the express ferry and arrived at Nantucket for our 5-year anniversary celebration.

After a quick bottle of bubbly, we headed out to dinner at Ventuno.
After an afternoon of traveling and a filling dinner we called it an early night. Our first full day was filled with exploring the island in my Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats.
We ended the evening with dinner at American Seasons and ice cream at the juice guys. We rested up for our big lighthouse day the next day!
